Controller: MeetPA is operated by Akaterra AB, Sweden (contact: hello@meetpa.app). We build MeetPA under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

What we process: the business-card photos, scanned QR codes, and meeting notes you capture; your company profile; and technical data needed to run the service (a device identifier, usage counts, token/cost figures).
Legal basis: performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) — the processing is what the service is; and legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f)) for abuse prevention and cost control. We use no tracking, no advertising, no analytics profiles, and make no automated decisions with legal effect.
Where your data lives: your meetings are stored only on your iPhone. Our server keeps no copy of your content: photos are never saved there, transcripts are used only during processing and not stored, and the generated record is held briefly (up to 7 days, solely so a failed delivery can be retried without reprocessing) and then deleted automatically. What remains server-side is technical metadata only (device identifier, usage counts, token/cost figures).
Why: solely to provide the service — extracting contacts, researching companies, and generating your meeting records. We do not sell data, show ads, or use your content to train AI models.
How the research works: to describe a company we search the web and read public pages. The queries are about the company, not about you — its name, or the domain taken from a business email address on the card — and the pages read are public ones, usually the company's own website. This step runs inside the Claude API request that writes your record; we publish nothing you capture, and we never search for you or your own business.
Processors we use: Anthropic (Claude API, USA — generates your records; API data retained up to 30 days for abuse monitoring, never used for training; transfer safeguarded by the EU-US Data Privacy Framework / SCCs under Anthropic's Data Processing Addendum). Hetzner Online GmbH (Germany — server hosting, under their data processing agreement). Apple (speech-to-text when dictating online, under Apple's own privacy terms). We engage no other processor. Anthropic and Hetzner each use their own sub-processors under the agreements above; the web-search step is run by Anthropic through Brave Search, listed on Anthropic's published sub-processor list.
Where: our servers are located in the EU (Germany). The AI step involves transfer to Anthropic in the USA under the safeguards above.
Your rights (Art. 15–21): access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection. Your captures live on your device: you can delete any meeting in the app, and the in-app exports are your data portability. Server-side working copies delete themselves within 7 days; for erasure of the remaining technical metadata, email us and we delete it within 30 days. You may lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
Payments: purchases are handled by Apple; we never see your card details, your name or your Apple ID. We store the Apple transaction identifier and the credits it granted, so that a purchase cannot be credited twice and so we can help if something goes wrong with your balance.
If you bring your own AI key: the key is held in your iPhone's Keychain, sent with each meeting and used once for that request; we keep no copy of it. Meetings processed that way run under your own account with Anthropic and your own agreement with them — including whatever retention that account is set to — rather than under ours.
Security: all transfers are encrypted (HTTPS); server access is restricted; we store the minimum needed to run the service.
Breach notification: if a breach affecting your data occurs, we notify the competent authority within 72 hours and affected users without undue delay.
Contacts of third parties: when you capture someone's business card, you are the controller of that contact data; exchanging business cards is a recognized business practice, but handling it afterwards in line with your own obligations is your responsibility.
